Clayton Davis is the Chief Awards Editor at Variety, where he has been a leading voice in film and television awards coverage since joining the publication in September 2020. A two-time Emmy-nominated host of PBS’ Variety Studio: Actors on Actors, he also co-hosts the award-winning Variety Awards Circuit Podcast.
An acclaimed journalist, Davis has received multiple nominations for journalism honors, including twice being named a finalist for Online Journalist of the Year by the Los Angeles Press Club. With over two decades of experience as an awards analyst, media commentator, and film and TV critic, Davis has been featured across major platforms and publications.
Since 2020, he has contributed to ABC’s live Oscars pre-show, and currently serves on the board of the Critics Choice Association. He is an active member of the Television Academy, BAFTA, and other major industry organizations, and is the founder of the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association.
