Lego’s New 9,000-Piece ‘Star Wars’ Death Star Set Features Emperor Palpatine’s Throne Room, Princess Leia’s Detention Cell and More

Lego is going bigger than ever with its latest entry in the Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series. The company unveiled the Lego Star Wars Death Star set, a staggering 9,023-piece build that now stands as the largest Lego Star Wars set to date. Designed for devoted builders and longtime franchise fans, the new set captures the Galactic Empire’s most iconic space station with a level of detail that spans across the original trilogy.

From “A New Hope” to “Return of the Jedi,” the set includes brick-built recreations of some of the saga’s most memorable sequences: the trash compactor, Emperor Palpatine’s throne room, Princess Leia’s detention cell, the tractor beam control, and even an Imperial shuttle hangar. Its compact foundation is layered vertically to create a towering display piece while still incorporating intricate play and storytelling elements—a balance of size and detail that cements it as a centerpiece for collectors.
