UW SPH Autumn Quarter 2024 TA Position

The School of Public Health MPH Core is seeking two Teaching Assistants (TAs) for PHI 511. Each position is 20 hours per week during the 2024 autumn quarter. The MPH program includes six courses, taken as a single cohort by all MPH degree students, in the first year of study. These TAs will support teaching 1 course, with expected course enrollment of about 120-150 students.

Faculty Project – Evaluating progress towards US CDC TB Elimination goals with ICRC

This project entails evaluating progress towards US CDC TB Elimination goals: Epidemiologic analysis of screening and treatment of tuberculosis (TB) infection in a large US-based cohort of adults living with HIV (including both US-born and non-US-born individuals). This work would be suitable for a MPH thesis or a PhD dissertation aim. It meets goals established in the Sept 2023 UN High Level Meeting on the fight against tuberculosis.

This work spans Infectious Disease, Public Health Practices, and other areas of global health. Required skills include statistical analysis, data management, and writing. Start and end dates for this project are flexible, and this this opportunity is unpaid.

Neighborhood House Consultant for Compensation Analysis and Development of Compensation Model

June – August 2024

Founded in 1906, Neighborhood House is one of the oldest human services agencies in the Seattle
region. Today, we continue to provide services to address the needs of entire families, with a focus
on low-income community members, public housing residents, immigrants, and refugees. We serve
thousands of people annually in King County through our major program areas of early childhood
education, youth development, employment and adult education, housing stability, aging and
disability services, and community health.

For this position, responsibilities include: Research and propose livable wage measures. conduct appropriate market research for wage comparison measures. access NH proposed compensation “areas of value” and effectively incorporate them into actual pay quantities. Access established job descriptions and develop a compensation model that appropriately aligns position in pay brands. Provide report of anticipated financial impact to the agency, proposed in phases.
