Eric Liaw shared thisHats off to Bar Winkler, Roey Lalazar and the entire Wonderful team on their $550M Series C! This round is a testament to the incredible value they are delivering to their customers around the world. Since we invested in the Series A, Wonderful has been executing against the thesis that AI in the enterprise wouldn't stay confined to one department. Once customers benefit in one function, AI capabilities will spread but is best utilized with a single foundation. Wonderful is building a cross functional foundation throughout the enterprise. Open, model-agnostic, and deployed alongside customers rather than thrown over the wall. Eric Liaw shared thisI've had the privilege of knowing Mikey Shulman for years, including as a fellow board member at WHOOP , where I watched him operate up close. Smart, grounded, relentlessly focused on building things people love. It wasn’t a hard call when the opportunity came to partner with Mikey as a founder. Suno is doing something genuinely rare: normalizing music creation as a consumer behavior. Instagram made everyone a photographer. TikTok made everyone a vlogger. Suno is making everyone a musician. Users now spend an average of 55 minutes a day creating on the platform. It's #1 in the App Store's Music category in dozens of countries. Thrilled that IVP is partnering with Mikey and the entire Suno team on their $400M Series D. https://lnkd.in/ee8BVsN7AI Music Startup Suno Raises Capital at $5.4 Billion ValuationAI Music Startup Suno Raises Capital at $5.4 Billion Valuation

Eric Liaw shared thisWhen Shravan N. and I first met, it was instantly clear that he is a person of incisive intellect with a voracious appetite to learn new things, two key ingredients for success in venture. Since he joined us, Shravan has added to that repertoire and consistently connects with and serves entrepreneurs on their journey to building the household names of the future. While some might say a promotion is a reflection of work done in the past, if you know Shravan, he will immediately look forward to what else he can do to push things forward for the future and that is why all of us at IVP are thrilled to make this announcement. Ajay Vashee, Alex Lim, Cack Wilhelm, Somesh Dash, Steve Harrick, Tom Loverro and I can't wait to see the impact he will have for our portfolio companies, limited partners and firm in the years to come. Congratulations!Eric Liaw shared thisI'm honored to be IVP's newest General Partner. Venture exists because exceptional, ambitious, entirely irrational people feel compelled to break out of the traditional confines and put their lives on hold to build something special. Working in startups before IVP helped me build that appreciation and admiration, but it's an entirely different thing to see it firsthand from people like Tuhin/Amir/Phil, Aravind/Denis/Johnny, Eduardo, Rotem/Or, Grant/Jon/James, Ashutosh/Varun, and all the other founders we're fortunate to partner with. I pinch myself every week that I get to watch these brilliant people bring forward the future. To the past, present, and future of the IVP Partnership - thank you for welcoming me with open arms, helping me grow, and putting your trust in me to help continue this legacy. Eric Liaw shared thisIt’s been fantastic to be on the journey with WHOOP and Will Ahmed, Ed Baker, Emily Capodilupo, Michener Chandlee, Johan Liden, John Sullivan, Garrett Bastable, Parsa Saljoughian, Jason Lynch, Travis Lang, Dr Kristen Holmes PhD, Jonathan Jeffrey, Patrick Pash and the entire Whoop team! What a milestone on our way to add healthy years to the human population!Eric Liaw shared thisBREAKING: WHOOP RAISES $575M AT $10.1B VALUATION Today marks an important milestone for Whoop. We’ve raised $575M at a $10.1B valuation to accelerate our mission of unlocking human performance and healthspan globally. This round brings together an extraordinary group of investors that reflects both where we’ve come from and where we’re going. It was led by Collaborative Fund with participation from 2PointZero Group, Qatar Investment Authority, Mubadala, Abbott, Mayo Clinic, Macquarie Group, Glade Brook Capital Partners LLC, B-FLEXION, IVP, Foundry, Accomplice, Affinity Partners, Promus Ventures, and Bullhound Capital alongside a group of individual investors including Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, Rory McIlroy, Virgil van Dijk, and Mathieu van der Poel. This investor group and this moment reflect a powerful evolution underway for Whoop and the broader healthcare market. Whoop was born in performance - trusted by the best athletes in the world to train, recover, and compete at the highest level. That foundation remains core to who we are. You see that in the iconic athlete investors joining this round. But it also represents our push into broader health. In the past 12 months, Whoop has received medical clearances, launched blood testing, and created a platform that has saved lives. Abbott and Mayo Clinic - two of the most respected and influential institutions in global healthcare - are now investors in Whoop. These are organizations that have shaped modern medicine. Their decision to partner with us is a clear validation of where our technology is headed. Healthcare systems around the world are reactive. For too long, they have waited for people to get sick, then intervene. Chronic disease is rising and costs continue to climb. At Whoop, we believe the future looks fundamentally different. We are building the most powerful, personal, preventive health platform in the world - powered by continuous biometric data, advanced analytics, and AI to help people understand their bodies and improve their health in real time. I am grateful to our team, our members, and our partners for believing in this vision. I’ve been building this company for 14 years and I’ve never been more excited for the future. Onwards! #WHOOP #financing #growth #health #wearables #hiring

Eric Liaw liked thisWarp Sciences launches today with $215M to build automated labs for drug discovery. AI has transformed software and mathematics already, but biology and chemistry haven't seen the same shift. We’ve known two of the founders, Kevin Weil and DJ Patil, for multiple decades. I recently sat down with them to hear about their plans for Warp. As Kevin put it: "We are not developing drugs of our own. We're building the infrastructure for people who do. And we're bringing it back to America." DJ said it best: "Just the other day, I sat down with a woman in remission from cancer. When I told her about Warp, the first thing she said was, 'Thank you for choosing to do this.' Somewhere, someone's loved one is waiting for a medicine that doesn't exist yet, and we can't wait. AI will find new targets, but if you can't get to the atoms and molecules, you only have a theoretical compound. You have a theoretical idea, a hope, a dream. That isn't a cure." Kevin, DJ, Solomon Reisberg, and Manohar Paluri bring experience from OpenAI, Meta, Google, and the White House, covering AI, data infrastructure, healthcare, and medicinal chemistry. Few teams have that mix, and it's exactly what solving this problem needs. Warp is hiring chemists, roboticists, and engineers who want to work on this. If that's you, please reach out us! Excited to be on this journey. Read the full interview with Kevin and DJ here: https://lnkd.in/gyeHfkEsEric Liaw liked this💥 Introducing Warp Sciences, a new company applying AI and robotics to help the world develop new medicines faster. We’ve raised a $215M Series A led by Lightspeed to bring frontier AI out of the browser and into the lab, and build scientific capacity here in America. I co-founded Warp with my long-time friend DJ Patil, FAIR co-founder Manohar Paluri, and drug hunter Solomon Reisberg. The early team is full of incredible people like Brian Spears, who helped achieve Q>1 fusion at LLNL. Here's why we're building Warp Sciences: 1. Robotic labs will let us do science at massive scale—and generate the data to train amazing AI models for science. 2. We need to reshore critical scientific capabilities from China, so we don’t lose our pharma industry the way we did solar, drones, and manufacturing. We are building a next-generation preclinical CRO, in America, to make and test molecules for companies developing new medicines. We’re not developing drugs of our own. We’re building the infrastructure for the people who do. We’re starting with real chemists doing real work for real customers. We’ll progressively automate that work, with our scientists helping build the tools and proving them in the lab, one workflow at a time. More automation lets us run more experiments and generate the data to train better science models. Better models help us design better experiments and automate more of the work. The lab improves the AI, and the AI improves the lab. We wrote more about this here: https://lnkd.in/g4k3eeEf Joining Lightspeed in the round are Premji Invest, IVP, Mayfield, 01 Advisors, Lux Capital, Menlo Ventures, Standard VC, Avenir Group, Scribble Ventures, Conviction, Gigascale Capital, Angular Ventures, Lowercarbon Capital, Uncork Capital, Innovation Endeavors, Liquid 2 Ventures, Matter VP, Zero Shot Fund, Westbound, Moxxie Ventures, Chapter One, Friends & Family Capital, SignalFire, 500 Global, Kearny Jackson, Formus Capital, and Fifth Down Capital. We’re also joined by an incredible group of angels, including Fidji Simo, Mark Chen, Mike Krieger, Brian Armstrong, Lulu Cheng Meservey, Dylan Field, Milan Kovac, Ion Stoica, Brendan Foody, Sarah Friar, Kate Rouch, Deepak Pathak, Sebastien Bubeck, Parag Agrawal, Shyam Sankar, Bob McGrew, Reid Hoffman, Lachy Groom, and many more. These are people we’ve learned from, built alongside, and admired for years. We’re excited to have them with us. We have a lot to build and a lot to prove. If you want to create frontier scientific AI models, put robots to work in the lab, do exceptional chemistry, and help the world discover new medicines faster, we’d love to work with you. Come build Warp with us: https://warp.xyz/careers

Eric Liaw liked thisEric Liaw liked thisUpdate loading… I’ve joined the team at Nooks as the head of communications and content. This team moves fast. A week and a half in, I’ve sat with the team as we named new products, developed launch messaging, advised on a keynote and - oh yeah, attended a 300-person offsite in Tucson. Working with Loreal, Dan, Rohan, Nikhil, Hannah, the marketing team and the larger org is filling my cup. AI came for coding, legal and customer support first. Sales is harder: it’s a human, personal, persuasion challenge - and the most interesting problem in AI right now. Nooks is learning what actually drives sales from 1B sales interactions at the world’s fastest growing companies. The growth opportunity here is massive; this is going to be a fun ride. As they say, let’s cook.

Eric Liaw liked thisExcited to announce our first dedicated SRE model. Frontier-leading performance, at a fraction of the cost, so we can run orders of magnitude more investigations and automated resolutions with Bits AI. Great work team! And I know we're just getting started...Eric Liaw liked thisIntroducing Scout 1.0, our first AI model specialized for investigating production incidents. Scout matches frontier-model investigation quality at a fraction of the cost. On our internal investigation benchmark, its highest-effort mode matches the strongest frontier models we evaluated at 4-19x lower estimated inference cost. Lower inference cost means investigations can run an order of magnitude more often and much earlier in an incident’s lifecycle, easing the burden of being on-call. We trained Scout on realistic simulations built from real-world incidents and production telemetry, using our in-house reinforcement learning infrastructure. Datadog engineers and preview customers are already using Scout to investigate production alerts. Learn more and sign up for the preview: https://bit.ly/3TJknGO

Now he’s answering it for teams and their agents with Scuba, alongside Dolapo Falola. Before Scuba, Noah and Dolapo shipped search, AI, and collaboration products used by millions of people at Slack, Google, and Foursquare. Scuba keeps track of all the valuable information usually lost in the cracks: the read on a customer after a call, a screenshot of a competitor's pricing page, a voice memo recorded after a board meeting, or text messages with your colleagues. Those have always been critical problems for teams. Now they’re agent problems too. With Scuba, teams of ten can build and ship like teams of 100! I've always been looking at M&A from the sell side as I was either a startup co-founder or working to support startups. It's been very educational to learn about how the buy side thinks, and thinking through further what this means to the sell side and how startups should think about their M&A approach. Given that primary startup exits come from M&A, it is very important to look at the concerns on the buyer's side.

Fifteen years ago, Eric Ries gave founders a method for building the right thing before running out of money. The Lean Startup became one of the most influential business books of the last two decades, with its methodology now used by founders and companies around the world. He followed it with two more The New York Times bestsellers, The Startup Way and The Leader's Guide. His new book asks a harder question: what happens after you succeed? Incorruptible, released this year and already a New York Times bestseller, explores how success can pull companies away from the purpose that made them worth building. Eric has lived these ideas as a builder. He served as CTO at IMVU and today is Executive Chair and Chairman of the Board at the Long-Term Stock Exchange, alongside his work at AnswerDotAI and Virgil. At FounderX, Eric joins the conversation on the future of startups and what it takes to build AI companies that do not lose themselves on the way up. August 25-27, STAK Space and Step San Francisco.

Big news for the workforce of the future: we’ve raised $70 million in strategic funding, at an increased valuation of $2.1 billion. The raise was led by Schroders Capital, with renewed participation from General Catalyst, Lightspeed, Index Ventures, BOND, and StepStone Group. This investment will accelerate our expansion across Europe, with the goal of ensuring that AI benefits the workforce, rather than displacing it. Around the world, businesses are pouring billions into technology while productivity remains stagnant. The missing piece of the productivity puzzle isn't more software, but the human infrastructure required to actually deploy it. In partnership with our customers from Babcock International Group to The AA, we’re proving that the greatest value of AI lies in expanding human capability, not replacing it. That’s what we’re building: the AI adoption layer to bridge the gap between the tech’s potential and real-world economic growth. For all of Europe. Let’s get to work 🤝
