In just the first day after its publication, the song hit the Ukrainian YouTube trends, where it took 4th place, and the main European Eurovision observers and fans of the contest predicted that the Ukrainian duo would win prizes on the main stage in Malmö. Also, in the voting on the official Eurovision website, the track "Teresa & Maria" has the first place from the listeners of all the participants of the national selection.
"The song is very rich in meaning and has a big message to the world, which is different from our previous work with Jerry Heil. It unites us as two women and conveys the mood of 'Women's power'. The track is about simple truths that should remind people that we are human, but we can reach unrealistic heights," says alyona alyona.
"The song 'Teresa & Maria' also shows our present, because it sings the pain of every Ukrainian. We find strength in people, we unite to get even closer to a common goal, to victory.
"In the face of united women, we speak with our song about the need for unity between anyone for good deeds and important victories! I sincerely believe in the victory of truth, but in a world full of noise, we will only be heard if we are united and speak in a coordinated manner. Ukraine has become a model of unity for the whole world. Together, we bravely faced the enemy and worked as a single mechanism. It was so impressive that the whole world started to help us," Jerry Heil.
The artists note that for Europe, our culture is still somewhat exotic. It touches their hearts when they see or hear it, but they won't call it their own. But in fact, Ukrainian culture has been integrated into the world culture for a long time, as evidenced by our "Shchedryk", which is a symbol of Christmas for every European or American. That's why another important mission of the track "Teresa & Maria" is to prove to the world that Ukrainian culture is its own. And it definitely has such a powerful force that can unite the world.
