Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer. Born on July 16, 1990, in Lagos, Nigeria, he has become one of the most prominent figures in Afrobeat and Afropop on a global scale, thanks to his unique style that blends African rhythms with modern musical influences. Wizkid began his career in 2001, gaining early recognition in the Nigerian music scene. However, he achieved international fame with the release of his critically acclaimed album "Superstar" in 2011, which included hits like "Holla at Your Boy" and "Tease Me/Bad Guy." His subsequent releases, including "Ayo" (2014) and "Sounds from the Other Side" (2017), further solidified his position as a trailblazer in the Afropop genre. Known for hits like "Essence", "Ojuelegba", "Come Closer", and "Made in Lagos", Wizkid continues to push boundaries, collaborating with global artists and expanding the reach of Nigerian music worldwide.
