Dealing with the Devil

Sierra Nevada mountains, Spain: Robert Epps thought it was tough enough going through Air Force training and earning his red beret, but that's nothing compared to tracking Soundwave through a gale force blizzard! As Bumblebee races to catch up, Epps demands Soundwave stand down or be eliminated, as they know his weapons are offline. The Decepticon laughingly reveals their intelligence to be false: as he charges up, a panicked Epps reports into NEST and is told to hold position, while Bumblebee gets between him and the shot...
In its aftermath, Epps is left with a broken arm, Bumblebee near death, and Soundwave taking robot form to take hostages. Optimus Prime, unaware of the crisis, attempts to flank the enemy but is forced to stand down or see both of the soldiers die. He offers himself up for them, and Soundwave gives him an offer: fight him without weapons and win, and they can all go home. Of course, only Optimus is going to be the one fighting without weapons.
Soundwave uses his sonic booms to almost blast Prime off the mountain, laughing that he'd allowed NEST to track him. Optimus almost goes off the mountain, a fatal drop, but notices a small cave through the mountainside... a cave his sensors show is part of a glacial fault running through to another part of the mountain! Optimus climbs through the fault to emerge behind Soundwave, and taunts the Decepticon into opening fire to bury him. After Soundwave's blind attacks have caused a mini-avalanche, Optimus pushes him right into the rush of snow and lets him be torn off down the mountain!
Unfortunately, Epps is left shaken by how he failed and how he's only alive because Bumblebee nearly sacrificed himself. He quietly hands in his NEST badge, resigning...

Notes
- The decision to explains why Epps left was down to Etherington himself, who said it "rather irked me" that the film didn't explain this. [1]
- Epps remarks that this is a really bad plan of NEST's... and he's right! One Autobot and one human in hostile terrain and no air support?!
- That's twice now that Soundwave has been running his own solo operations in the prequel strips. Does Megatron know?
- Titan gives a different motive for Epps retiring than IDW's Dark of the Moon prequels.
Errors
- How can Epps think Soundwave's weapons are offline when he's being shot at earlier?!
- Soundwave transforms from his satellite mode from the second film into his completely different body from the third film, complete with car kibble!
