From Transformers Wiki

Of Masters and Mayhem
Hailing from the planet Maarin, the Teklaans began life as a terraforming force to heal the blighted planet after the organic natives had devastated it. The robots accomplished their task creating an idealized version of Maarin's biosphere, but were programmed too well, introducing a perfect virus into the new biosphere. Within a few generations, the Maarin were dead. With nothing left to do, the Teklaans mechanized their planet, Cergo emerging as their leader, before they moved onto other worlds, the perfect viruses leaving perfect ready to colonize worlds for the Teklaan race. Overtime, Fractyl would become vaguely aware of their existence. Lively Pursuit
After Cybertron's devastation by Thunder Mayhem, Deadly Aim the Teklaans discovered the planet and contacted Bluestreak, stranded on the ruined surface, and offered to rebuild his planet, even resurrect the fallen. After restoring an area to a state out of the pre-Kronoform era, Bluestreak consented to their services, turning the Wreckers over as the blueprints of the new biosphere. While imprisoned, Fractyl remembered who the Teklaans were and their plans, winning Bluestreak over when Cergo confirmed that several Cybertronian diseases were being developed. After the Teklaans refused to stand down, Wreckage gave them a what for, destroying their ship and ending their operation. Though the Wreckers entertained the idea of stranding them on Cybertron, they sent the force back to Maarin to tell their leaders that Cybertron was off-limits. Lively Pursuit
Notes
- The Teklaans are an alternate version of Marvel's Mekkans, a race of servant robots used to terraform the planet Maarin before their creators perished from a virus. Additionally, Cergo seems to be based upon Torgo, the first Mekkan, although decidedly more evil. Jesse Wittenrich would later reveal that he was meant to be a successor to Torgo, as there was no Fantastic Four to free him from the Skrull gladiator pits.[1]
