Tasmanian delight!

Tasmanian devils are carnivorous marsupials whose habitat had been reduced to the Australian island of Tasmania, although it seems they'll expand their territory in the distant future.

After crashing on Gaia, Kid had a few minutes to find an animal to DNA scan for a beast mode before the atmosphere would do him in. He wanted something cool, but the first creature he encountered was a puny Tasmanian devil, an animal he couldn't even identify. Fortune smiled upon him when he saw an eagle soar and he started the scanning process. This is when the Tasmanian devil saw fit to jump in his face and effectively scan-bomb him. Tasmania Kid was not happy with his lousy new form, but he couldn't change it either and there were more urgent matters, which the Tasmanian devil seemed to be aware of. It guided Tasmania Kid to the top of a cliff to show him the curious black fog enveloping the jungle in the distance. Tasmania Kid thanked the critter for giving him a lead and it went on its way. The New Forces Arrive!

While spying on the Autorollers, a Tasmanian devil that likely was the same as the one whose form he'd scanned joined Tasmania Kid. The latter was happy to see the animal and to have an audience for when he'd blow up the lakeside base the Autorollers were working on. He didn't have a plan to plant the explosives yet, yet as the Tasmanian devil started digging, he understood how his beast mode would benefit him in this situation. With some quick tunneling, everything got set for a big boom and Tasmania Kid happily hit the controller's button. It was then he got captured because it was a trap and only the Tasmanian devil was witness to it. When the Lio Convoy Unit arrived to find Tasmania Kid, the Tasmanian devil awaited them and showed them the lake where it all happened. Half the unit subsequently also got captured, but Diver and Scuba remained free and the Tasmanian devil joined them in the lake's water. As it turned out, the Predacons had a fully operational fortress at the bottom of the lake and the Tasmanian devil hitched a ride down on one of their submarines. Once loose inside the base, Dirge and Thrust went after it thinking it was Tasmania Kid who had escaped. They captured it, but the distraction had allowed Diver and Scuba to infiltrate. Scuba freed the animal and then the real Tasmania Kid. The two Maximals fled with the critter in their arms and reunited with the other Maximals, but ended up lost in the fortress base while the Predacons had set it to blow up. As the Maximals hesitated on their next move, the Tasmanian devil relied on its animal instincts to show them a way out in time. When everyone was safely on shore, Tasmania Kid thanked his little friend for all it'd done. The Lake Trap
