- Sharp Edge is a Maximal nutcase from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Sharp Edge (シャープエッジ Shāpu Ejji) is not unlike the ocean waves where he makes his home. He can be calm, serene and quite pensive on the surface, but at any given moment he can erupt into a tidal wave of sheer destructive force. A creature of honor who prides his position as a soldier, he believes fighting to be his one true purpose in life. Though a dedicated Maximal, the threat of peace always looms over his head, as he fears that, once there's no more need for soldiers, he will simply cease to exist.

On Planet Aquarius, Sharp Edge ruminated on his skills and whether his fighting prowess could overcome the lauded Big Convoy. He practiced his lethal technique, the "Raging Waves Destroyer", by perfecting its strike against the acidic seas of Aquarius themselves. Archadis of the Dinosaur interrupted his training session and applauded the technique, but Sharp Edge was embarrassed. Despite his private ambitions, he rationally knew that Big Convoy was his fellow Maximal and not an enemy he should imagine defeating. Archadis hid his Predacon allegiance and promoted himself as an event coordinator to explain his interest in Sharp Edge. He suggested an exhibition match, a formal and honorable forum for Sharp Edge to confront Big Convoy without guilt to prove who was the best.
Once Sharp Edge agreed, Archadis promoted the tournament by announcing an Angolmois Capsule as a prize for victory. Archadis told Sharp Edge that his fight with Big Convoy was being hyped as the main event of the tournament. However, the crew of the Gung Ho arrived without their captain Big Convoy in order to win the capsule in his honor. Archadis and the Predacons captured them first to force Big Convoy's participation. Big Convoy entered the Sea Dome arranged by Archadis for the tournament, a bubble of air trapped beneath the acid waters of Aquarius. Big Convoy was surprised to see Sharp Edge when the match began, and tried to explain what was really going on. Archadis vented them out into the acid seas to prevent any conversation and put Big Convoy at a disadvantage next to Sharp Edge and his aquatic-reinforced armor. Sharp Edge was too eager for battle to listen anyway, and prepared to lash out with his Raging Waves Destroyer. Longrack and Mach Kick of the Maximals stretched out through the acid to hold him back, putting themselves at risk of dissolving. This gave Big Convoy the chance to explain the real situation to Sharp Edge. The Maximal warrior quickly understood and turned on Archadis, driving off the Predacon. Sharp Edge apologized to Big Convoy afterwards, and awarded the Angolmois Capsule to the Gung Ho as partial penance for his hubris. Personal Combat in the Deep Sea!!
After the defeat of Unicron, Sharp Edge returned to Cybertron. There, he attended a meal hosted by Artemis. Graduation Ceremony!!

Beast Wars: Uprising
Sharp Edge had once been a nucleon addict before finding Primus. Sunstorm and his aides at the First Church of Primus in Dodecahex helped the poor Maximal kick his addictions, and Sharp Edge became a devout member of the congregation for years to come. He could be a violent hard-liner at times when it came to carrying the word of Primus to others, but Sunstorm helped him quell these urges more often than not.
When the Vehicon Apocalypse came to Dodecahex, Sharp Edge and many other followers hid in the Church from their attackers. Sunstorm ushered his flock into the underground tunnels where they could flee from the Vehicons. Derailment

Beast Wars
- Sharp Edge (Deluxe Class, 1999)
- ID number: C-37
- Release date: March ??, 1999
- Accessories: "Adamantine Sword" missile,[1] "Adamantine Tail" claw weapon, 2 shark-headed missiles
- Known designers: Masakatsu Saito (concept artist)
- Part of the third wave of Beast Wars Neo products in Takara's Beast Wars toyline, Sharp Edge is a retool of Beast Wars Deluxe Class Cybershark, transforming into an organic sawshark. This toy features a new beast mode head, fins and tail, as well as a new robot mode head.
- In robot mode his shark head becomes his "Adamantine Sword" which can be held in his hand. In this mode, his sword or any of his shark-headed missiles (which store in his back) can fire from his chest via a spring-loaded missile launcher. His tail also becomes a hand-held claw weapon with a spring-loaded swing out blade, called the "Adamantine Tail". In the cartoon, both of his primary weapons are shown to be held in one hand as a single weapon—something that the toy isn't fully capable of recreating due to the fists not being deep enough for both weapons to plug into either side, as well as the shell parts colliding with one another.
- The original Cybershark mold was also retooled to make Hellscream and Universe Overbite.
- Master Fencers Showdown: Sharp Edge VS Hardhead (Multi-pack, 1999)
- ID number: VS-37
- Release date: March ??, 1999
- Accessories: "Adamantine Sword" missile, "Adamantine Tail" claw weapon, 2 shark-headed missiles
- Sharp Edge was also available in the "Master Fencers Showdown" (剣豪の対決 kengō no taiketsu) two-pack with the Predacon Hardhead, also released in the third wave of Neo toys.
- Both toys are identical to their standard releases.

- ↑ Both of Sharp Edge's primary weapons use the kanji 金剛 (konkou) which can be translated into a number of different meanings in English; including adamantine, diamond and vajra, to name a few. Karyuudo Fansubs, the team who unofficially translated the full Beast Wars Neo series, chose the word "adamantine," likely due to it sounding cooler. Just note that any of these translations can be the correct one, but due to the lack of any romanization from official sources, we're left to make up our own interpretation of the name.
