- Downshift's unpublished Marvel Universe profile confirms that he would have carried a rust rifle in that continuity,[1] while his Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profile eschewed the rust rifle in favour of his neural shock gun.
- Given that Downshift and Camshaft's names were switched in Japan, the Tech Specs for the Generation 1 Japanese release of Downshift's toy called this weapon a hand pulse laser.
