En garde mon capitan. You now face ze Leapair!

Leapers are large, Decepticon brutes that jump around a lot and can only be defeated by being attacked from the back.[1] Jazz doesn't like them that much.

Fall of Cybertron

The large and intimidating Leapers act as heavy melee troops in the Decepticon ranks. Although normally rather slow-moving, they can generate great bursts of speed for short periods of time, allowing them to deliver vicious charging attacks. In open-roofed areas, they can also live up to their names by jumping high into the air, creating a large, powerful shockwave on impact with the ground. They were mostly seen during the very late part of the Great War. The front side of a Leaper is heavily armored, making head-on combat suicidal at best. However, like Brutes, Leapers are vulnerable to attacks from behind, due to the large engines on their backs.

Six days before the launch of the Ark, Optimus Prime was ambushed by a Leaper when making his way to a control center to re-route energon supplies to Iacon's artillery guns. Though the Leaper managed to stagger Optimus and impale several Autobots, it left its weak spot open to a barrage from Optimus. More Leapers attempted to swarm Optimus but he managed to bring the guns online. After Metroplex was found, a duo of Leapers tried to assassinate Optimus on Starscream's orders only to be destroyed by the Titan.

When Megatron returned from the dead, a contingent of Leapers loyal to Starscream attempted to slay their former leader only to quickly be slain by Megatron. More Leapers were called in to defend the space bridge tower from Grimlock but were quickly dispatched by the Dinobot leader.

Following the launch of the Ark, Jazz led a defence of the engines against Bruticus. When Jazz began to seriously threaten the combiner, a Leaper attempted to defend Bruticus but was ultimately unsuccessful in preventing the Autobots from launching Bruticus off the Ark. Fall of Cybertron

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

Console

Leapers were among the Decepticons forces that Jazz and Optimus fought in their quest to rescue Cliffjumper and retrieve the Dark Spark from Kolkular.

In another universe, Lockdown had several Leapers among his mercenary forces. They fared poorly against Grimlock. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
