During the Ark crew's search for the Allspark, Kup was among the Autobots who stayed on Cybertron to fight off Decepticon forces. He was suddenly assaulted by Lockdown only to be saved by Whirl. Battle For Cybertron II

After the Great War was won in the Autobots' favor, Kup was among the Transformers imprisoned by the Quintessons in the Loop, which made him relive the same five minutes of a parade over and over. The Loop The Sleeper Kup was eventually freed from the simulation alongside the other Autobots thanks to the Cybertronian resistance, who got them to transform when they unleashed Air Hammers into the Loop. Kup stood ready among the defenders of Iaconus, as the alliance prepared to fight back the Quintesson forces. When the Quintessons attacked, Kup participated in the battle, astride Skullcruncher. The alliance was momentarily victorious, and the Judge and the Quintesson ship was destroyed, but the assembled forces had little time to celebrate, as the new Judge arose and declared their universe guilty. Kup participated in the effort to stop the conflict between the Decepticon supersoldiers, supplied with gadgets by Wheeljack. The gadgets were effective, but the supersoldiers merely teleported away and continued their conflict. Later, when Cybertron was overrun by Tarn and the supersoldiers, Kup joined Hot Rod and the other Autobot forces underground to form a plan to take back the planet. He participated in the battle against Tarn’s forces, and stood with the others as the smoke cleared following Tarn’s destruction and Soundwave’s sacrifice. The Perfect Decepticon

Notes

  • Kup's design is based off his Generation 1 counterpart's first Generations toy with minor stylistic tweaks based off his Titans Return toy.
  • Kup's concept art (shown above) depicts him with heavily shadowed cheekbones resembling wrinkles, which seems to have been misinterpreted as a thick black streak running across his jowls by the animators.
