A part of Rocket Base, Galaxy Rocket is a large rocket ship that the Autobots use for transportation. Though it isn't a sentient Transformer itself, the Galaxy Rocket does have an alternate mode, opening out into a stationary weapons platform. As might be expected from a rocket that is part of the Autobot/Decepticon war, it is well armed.

Following the rebuilding of the planet Micro into Zone, Galaxy Rocket and the Rocket Base formed part of Zone Base. When a group of Decepticons attacked the base, it was transformed into its defense mode to attempt to fight them off. Despite this, they succeeded in stealing the base's Energon Z. Moonradar assembled a force including the Super Car Patrol Team and the Battle Patrol Team to board Galaxy Rocket and take up the pursuit. Galaxy Rocket had not long left Zone before it was halted by Scorponok. The Autobots fired on him, but he slung an energy net over the rocket and departed, leaving the rocket to slowly be destroyed.

Galaxy Rocket and its crew were rescued by the Jet Patrol Team, and with the help of Sunrunner, pursued the Decepticons to Earth. There, they saved a boy named Akira and took him aboard the rocket where he befriended Cain. Once they located Trypticon and Predaking, the Micromasters transformed the rocket into its base mode and rushed out to meet the pair in combat. They were no match for the two Decepticons, but just as Trypticon was about to smash Galaxy Rocket, Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber arrived in time to take over. The Micromasters, Cain, and Akira sat out the rest of the battle in the safety of Galaxy Rocket. Later they stood on Galaxy Rocket's ramp as Dai Atlas showed off the Zodiac to them. Enter the New Supreme Commander, Dai Atlas!

When the Zone Base was attacked by Overlord, Bruticus, Abominus, and Menasor, even the transformed base wasn't enough to stop them stealing the Energon Z. Moonradar piloted the Galaxy Rocket in pursuit, only for the ship to be grabbed by BlackZarak and cocooned up until the Jet Patrol Team could burn the covering off. The Decepticons soon reached Earth, pursued by the Autobots. As Akira was menaced by Predaking, the Autobots picked him up using Galaxy Rocket's robotic arm and Cain helped him aboard. Even the transformed Galaxy Rocket and the Micromasters were no match for the Decepticons however, and they were only saved when Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber arrived. Following the battle, the Autobots returned to Zone in Galaxy Rocket. Zone

Guns and rockets are well and good, but it's the Autobots' superior ramp capability that will win the war.
