Deadlock (Cloud)
From Transformers Wiki
| The name or term "Deadlock" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Deadlock (disambiguation). |
- Deadlock is a Decepticon from the Cloud continuity.
When he was known by another name, this Transformer was exiled from Metropolis to the lawless land known as the Underground. His days there hardened him and instilled in him a fierce hatred of the Autobots who rejected him. He caught the attention of the mighty Megatron, who inducted the wayward robot into his Decepticons and granted him a name: Deadlock (デッドロック Deddorokku). His sheer brutality and skills in combat shock even his fellow Decepticons, but his soul has become weary over the course of war; will the ember of kindness in Deadlock ever rekindle and bring him back to who he was, original name and all?
Probably, until his interdimensional voyages as a native of Cloud World tipped Deadlock off to how this story usually goes. Now this fiery young bot is determined to blaze his own trail through the multiverse by any means necessary.

Cloud
The Deadlock of Cloud World was recruited to the Decepticons by Megatron himself, and quickly came to revel in his own blood-thirst on the battlefield. But after one of his missions, Lockdown informed him that he had botched their objective by slaughtering too many Autobots, and beat him down to discipline him. Deadlock swore to kill Lockdown himself for this indignity. Decepticon Jaeger Deadlock
Deadlock was one of the Decepticons who prepared to attack Metropolis as part of Shockwave's complex plan, although he cared little for anything beyond killing Autobots, to Astrotrain's annoyance. Riding Astrotrain's train mode with the others, Deadlock crashed into Metropolis and set about pleasing himself with slaughter. His thirst for blood wasn't quenched when their job was done and retreat was called, so the Decepticons had Dinobot drag him back into Astrotrain with his jaws. Awakening He soon eagerly participated in another Shockwave-planned attack on Metropolis to break out Starscream, but this time was confronted by Ironhide, who didn't appreciate the murderous punk. Deadlock retreated when the mission was accomplished. Eagerness The Decepticons returned within Astrotrain to the Underground. There, even Deadlock was unnerved by Shockwave's painful attempt to use SARA's power that was left in Starscream. When the Autobots stormed the Colosseum to prevent Shockwave from bringing back Megatron, Ironhide and Deadlock faced off against each other again. The Decepticon didn't like struggling against the Autobot's strength, nor his attempt to pry into his motivations. He got a punch to his face to "wake" him up. Lightwave
Elsewhere, Megatron shot out a powerful blast, which took out many in the Colosseum battle. Ironhide protected the baffled Deadlock from the brunt of his power and collapsed. The insulted Deadlock aimed his gun at the Autobot's head, but walked away, covering up his gratitude and second thoughts by bemoaning that he couldn't kill Autobots who couldn't hear him. The battle was soon joined by the Wreckers, who had the Decepticons, including Deadlock on the ropes, but Megatron finally joined the battle proper and upgraded Skywarp into Hellwarp to deal with the Wreckers. Metamorphosis As Megatron set out to other spacetimes to seek out the hiding SARA, Deadlock begged his leader to let him accompany so he could continue his slaughter of Autobots across the Spacetime World. Megatron didn't care either way and his Decepticon force entered through a Dimension Gate to elsewhere. Overwhelm
Deadlock and the others ended up on Gaia in a BS Spacetime, where the young Decepticon showed awe at the experience of a new world. Concealment The visiting Decepticons and the Autobots ended up on the bad side of the native Predacons and a battle between the villains began. Deadlock avoided Thrustor's freezing attacks and moaned that even the Transformers of a "lush world" fought and died just like on Cloud World. When Megatron accomplished in capturing SARA, he learned of the existence of Unicron and went to his spacetime to destroy this rival to multiversal domination. Deadlock and the other Decepticons followed. Struggle In Unicron, Deadlock was left deal with his antibodies. Fury When the planet-sized robot was being destroyed from the inside out by the Matrix, Deadlock fled back to Cloud World with the other Decepticons, but was apprehensive of leaving behind Megatron, who Shockwave had wrote off as a proper leader. Transcendence
Deadlock took part in a mission to the 15-OGSS Spacetime. He and his comrades attacked the human/Autobot facility Space Bridge T.R.2, but the Autobots of Cloud World arrived on the scene in response. After Shockwave had gathered the data he needed, the Cloud World Decepticons retreated. Compilation Comic
Getting his hands on SARA at some point, Deadlock used her powers to flee to the Legends World, where he was surprised that the local Waspinator knew of him. Realizing that all dimensions existed as fictional stories in this dimension, he took to gathering information by consuming their media, and was surprised to find that Transformers throughout the multiverse were extremely similar to their Cloud World counterparts. The Zamojin, creators of the Legends world, then possessed SARA and told Deadlock that he and his compatriots were not the original Transformers, but copies based on beings from other universes. Deadlock was outraged by this concept as it suggested that he was fated to become an Autobot like the "original" Deadlock, and defiantly proclaimed that his fate was his to decide. On the recommendation of Skids, another interdimensional visitor, he then ended the Zamojin control of SARA by unleashing her powers and opening a gate back to Cloud World, where he lost her to the Autobots. Some time later, after having fought many battles across many dimensions, Deadlock wound up alone in a barren wasteland, having been separated from his unit by a spatiotemporal storm. Wandering about, he came upon Go Prime kneeling in defeat before Grand Scourge... and Lockdown's carcass strewn on the ground nearby. Enraged, Deadlock charged Grand Scourge, but found himself to be thoroughly outclassed. Deadlock only managed to avoid being cut down by grabbing hold of a nearby blade to block his opponent's retaliatory attack. Grand Scourge then lost interest and walked off to find his real target, and Deadlock made a new vow, to track down his new opponent and kill him instead. Decepticon Jaeger Deadlock
Deadlock was inducted into the Black Parade by Go Prime, and was trained to become a new Swordbot. At some point, they were alerted by Primus to the end of the Blue Order and the threat of Ultra Megatron Omega and were soon invaded by Coelagon, who desired the Black Legendisc. The Black Parade failed to prevent Coelagon from wresting the artifact from them. God Neptune comic 1
Bound for some unknown reason, Deadlock was one of many Transformers from across the multiverse observed by Bludgeon. Cybertron Magna Convoy
Escaping his bonds some manner or other, Deadlock was spotted amongst the high command of Magna Convoy's reconstituted Primus Vanguard, having inherited his master's position. Finale
