A black hole is an astronomical feature that occurs when a massive star collapses into an extremely small singularity so dense than not even light can escape its gravitational field.

Transformers have encountered black holes on a number of occasions and they have frequently been shown to function as portals between alternate universes.

When Merklynn activated the Talisman within Cybertron, nearly half of the planet's energon reserves were sent off into space in the form of a communication signal that struck a planet orbiting the supermassive black hole. Upon Shockwave's return to Cybertron, he threw Optimus Prime into the Crystal City singularity so that the Prime could experience his own journey of enlightenment. In order to get his hands on the lost ancient Cybertronian artifacts, Spinister, holding Ultra Magnus' crew hostage, requested him to find the lost Alpha Trion, whose trail of his ship led to the Black Sphere, a planetary system deeply affected by its close proximity to a supermassive black hole. Cyberverse cartoon

Among Wheeljack's many scatter-brained inventions was a gun that created exceptionally short-lived black holes. Not knowing of the weapon's destructive potential, Bumblebee fired it to try and contain Grimlock, super-charged on Hyper Fuel, only for the singularity to nearly consume Hot Rod. Optimus Prime, rather calmly, saved the day by using Wheeljack's force shield blaster to contain the black hole long enough for it to burn itself out. The Visitor

Following their expulsion from Cybertron, the Quintessons dispatched Goliant to the planet. Knowing the giant would turn the tide in the Quintessons' favour, Zerta Trion led him to a distant star system and duped him into consuming a red star on the verge of becoming a black hole. As Goliant fed, Zerta influenced the planets Agorria and Zertonia, doomed satellites of the red sun, to dismantle their worlds and each forge one half of the Sacred Ring. When Goliant became trapped in the black hole, the Ring around the singularity became his prison, synthesizing energon from both the black hole and Goliant himself, whom Zerta intended to kill when he was at his weakest.
