Synopsis
Millennia after the end of humanity's time on Earth, it is the end of the Second Great War on Cybertron as Lio Convoy (in the form of the Legendary Green Lion) and Big Convoy bring an end to Unicron, who has taken on Galvatron's form. Vector Sigma, in gratitude, grants both Lio and Big the title of "Great Convoy", but the latter turns down the honor, preferring to roam the galaxy as a loner.
After Cybertron is rebuilt in the wake of Unicron's rampage, Great Lio Convoy announces to a gathering of Destrons and Cybertrons of the dissolution of the old factions, of the age of Convoys, culminating in the foundation of a new unified faction, the Maximals—led by the Prime Leaders. Magmatron approves of the reorganization, noting that "Prime" was a title from before the Great War that can apply to Cybertron and Destron alike while "Convoy" is an exclusively Cybertron title. After rechristening himself as "Leo Prime", the former Lio Convoy goes forth as Senior Commander to take on any threat, including the Unicron of another universe.
In this other universe, Go Prime confronts the "interloper", explaining that he has split the timeline as part of an experiment to save it from a "crisis". Leo Prime and L.P. are distracted, however, by the fact that the quantum gate they have used is being used by the Predacons of this world to travel to the G1 World! Returning to his native universe, Leo Prime meets up with Delta Magnus, who handles the Predacon extermination with his Primal Vanguard, and Bluebolt, who has been upgraded into a Transformer in her own right by God Magnus. Leo Prime gets chewed out by the Prime Council for allowing the Predacons to invade their universe, but Megatronus the Fallen Prime lays words of gratitude for Leo Prime, who forgave him for his invasion of Cybertron from his own universe long ago, and grants him amnesty. The Fallen sends Leo Prime on his next mission: to investigate, with the Dimensional Patrol, the Legends World created by the Zamojin. There, Megatronus explains, is an energy they can potentially use to counterbalance Angolmois Energy. Despite Leo Prime's reassurance that little remains of it, the Fallen is insistent—Angolmois Energy created this universe, and those that possess its power are capable of ending this universe, as happened to the previous universe. Thus, another energy to replace it for the G1 World is necessary. Leo Prime acquiesces. After Leo leaves, Quintus Prime and Megatronus set in motion the "Anti-Angolmois Energy Act" to rid the universe of Angolmois Energy.
In the streets of Cybertron, Hellscream and Max-B fall victim to the act, having their Angolmois Energy drained by the Primal Vanguard and reverted to their prior forms. Gigastorm, Dirgegun, and Thrust manage to flee. The Primal Vanguard finds the pure-Angolmois Energy Transformer known as Lio Junior, but Quintus Prime keeps him as is to serve as bait for his father...
In the resurrected Legends World, Leo Prime catches wind of his son's capture and bids farewell to his alternate self and his son. Concluding that the Zamojin's spirit energy will not impede the universe's decay, Leo Prime returns to the Valley of Lions on Gaia with Bluebolt, where he uses the traces of Angolmois Energy there to retake the form of an old friend, once again becoming Lio Convoy, the Legendary Green Lion. Throughout the universe, disasters unfold and the Stunticons take the Nemesis to a black hole to find alternate sources of energy.
Bluebolt and Lio Convoy return to Cybertron, finding it has been converted to a factory to make another form of energy. Confronting the two, Megatronus explains that, as Vector Sigma is the current self of the Oracle, a being of Angolmois Energy himself, they took the supercomputer prisoner. Lio Convoy accuses the Fallen of fearing the power that once defeated him, but the democratically elected Prime claims that he will never accept the energy of Unicron the destroyer. With the help of Bluebolt, Lio Convoy manages to take down Megatronus's accomplices, but the Fallen Prime reveals his new energy—the Allspark itself! Putting the energy of their race's lifeforce in a container, Megatronus seeks to move on to the next universe with said energy, bringing over the Thirteen. His ranting is cut short as Lio Convoy stabs him, killing the villain. Lio Convoy swears to take Angolmois Energy to save the current world, giving up his life to revive the fallen Bluebolt. Distraught at her friend's death, the newly avian Bluebolt resolves to take his body to Gaia and use its Angolmois Energy to resurrect the lion.
Later, Untite sets a course for the Predacon base on Junkion, moaning that Dark Amber Leo Prime has eaten up all of the cargo on his ship. Suddenly, an image of Lio Convoy emanates from Dark Amber's Energon Matrix and the two selves of the lion finally meet in person. Lio Convoy enjoins Leo Prime to save the universe together, thus proving the righteousness of Angolmois Energy.

Notes
Continuity notes
- This comic bridges the end of the Beast Wars Neo cartoon with the previous installment of End of G1 Universe, released four years prior to this one, incorporating the various multiversal adventures Lio Convoy is known to have gone on during that time, as previously established by both the Transformers: Prime and Legends lines.
- The first three pages retell Unicron's attack on Cybertron at the climax of Beast Wars Neo.
- Heinrad wearing a cloak might be a callback to his clothing in "Controverse".
- Up to this point, the factions known in English-speaking markets as the "Maximals" and "Predacons" have always been known in Japan as the "Cybertrons" and "Destrons," the same names used for the Autobots and Decepticons before them. With this story, the Cybertron and Destron factions are disbanded, and a new, united one is formed, named... the "Maximals." This isn't helpful from our English-centric wiki-writing perspective, but the story point seems to have been foreshadowed by the previous chapter of End of G1 Universe, in which Bluebolt used the activation code "Maximize," a term also not previously used in Japan (instead, the Cybertrons would used the Japanese word "henshin"), but the use of which now makes sense. Notably, Untite used the English-language Predacon transformation code "Terrorize," and in this chapter, is identified as a "Predacon" (not a "Destron"), indicating that that faction has somehow also come into being along with the Maximals in this future era; see below for more.
- Speaking of faction names, Magmatron claims that "Convoy" is a rank only used by Cybertrons, which…is only sort of true. The two Black Convoys of this continuity are both Destrons, BUT they’re also both evil clones of Cybertron leaders (Convoy and Fire Convoy); one was constructed by Doctor Arkeville (but it happened in a splinter timeline) while the other started as a Cybertron protoform.
- "Leo Prime" is the Hasbro-market name for Lio Convoy, having been used on most toys of the character released by the company. In 2012, TakaraTomy used this name for their Transformers: Prime toy of the character, accompanied by a bio which explained that Lio Convoy had switched to using this name in-universe after the events of Beast Wars Neo. Subsequently, in 2023, the bio for MP-48+ Dark Amber Leo Prime explained that he renamed himself because the Convoys had been replaced by the "Prime Leaders," a change we see enacted in this comic. The term "Prime Leader" itself was a previously very-little-used rank that appears to originate in the Beast Wars Universe guidebook, derived from a misunderstanding of a line of dialogue from the Beast Wars episode "Dark Designs."
- Leo Prime's brief visit to the world of Transformers: Prime was established by the bio included with his Prime toy. This scene is set in the previously-unseen time-gap between Prime and Triple Combination: Transformers Go!, and depicts the arrival of the Predacons on Earth, as described in the Go! backstory. The Autobots present—Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Wheeljack—are the figures who were available in the first wave of the Go! toyline.
- Speaking of Go!: famously, TakaraTomy opted not to import the third season of Transformers: Prime, and instead produced Go! as their own, original continuation of the story. This comic provides an in-universe explanation for the timeline branch, revealing that it was the work of Go Prime, who used the time-twisting power of his Black Legendisc to split the timeline in two. Go Prime was introduced by Transformers Go!, then later retconned into—as he explains here—a 'bot from Precursor World who had hopped dimensions into the Prime universe in the Generations Selects Special Comic.
- Some of the Prime Predacons make it through the portal back into the "G1 Universe"; is this intended to present a possible origin for the rise of the Predacon faction to which Untite belongs?
- Bluebolt started out life as a non-living weapon wielded by God Magnus in Car Robots (as was renamed "Blue Bolts" when God Magnus's toy was ported over to Hasbro markets as Robots in Disguise "Ultra Magnus"). For the new toy of Magnus released through HasLab in 2025, the weapon was upgraded into a full Transformer with a robot mode, and appears in this form in this story. By coincidence, around the time this toy was being developed, a new character called "Bluebolt" was introduced in the previous chapter of the End of G1 Universe manga. This character was not originally intended to be related to the Car Robots weapon, but, riffing on the similar name, manga author Hayato Sakamoto imagined them to be the one and the same, and makes the connection explicit in this chapter, showing the character reformatted from one form to the other.
- Megatronus's attempted invasion of Cybertron occurred in the Train Wars manga.
- The Fallen states that he and the other Primes were elected to their positions of authority, aligning with how the Beast Wars episode "Chain of Command" established that Maximal leaders are democratically elected through secret ballot.
- Sakamoto's focus on the dangers of Angolmois Energy continues a plot point from the Generations Selects Special Comic. Characters seen being hunted for the Angolmois in their systems include Gigastorm, the Cyborg Beasts, and Lio Junior, who were all upgraded or created through the energy's power, as seen in the Beast Wars II cartoon. Lio Junior has been upgraded from his original form to a "virtual redeco" of his dad's original body.
- Leo Prime's trip to the Legends World and his friendship with the Lio Convoy and Lio Junior of that universe (which led to him being upgraded to the new Headmaster body he has in this scene) was depicted in the manga packed with the Legends Leo Prime toy. He said goodbye to them in the Legends epilogue.
- The "old friend" from Gaia that Lio Convoy speaks of is the white lion who rescued him when he crashed on the planet at the start of the Beast Wars II cartoon, upon whom his alternate mode was based, as seen in "White Lion, Run!".
- The Cyborg Beasts gained their Angolmois modifications in the Beast Wars II episodes "Megastorm Reborn", "The End of Starscream", and "The Lio Convoy Assassination Plot".
- The 'bots seen as disaster shakes Cybertron are mostly a collection of minor supporting 'bots from the Beast Wars Neo anime: Bazooka, Crazybolt, Randy, Hydra, and Hydra's robot pal OPE. Also present is Seacon leader Halfshell, and his crewmate Lawbhammer, a new addition to the group, introduced in God Neptune's chapter of the Generations Selects Special Comic.
- The concluding caption ("Next Time: The Mystery of the Speedia 500!") indicates that the events of Velocitron Speedia 500 take place after this story.
Transformers references
- Great Lio Convoy's cloak, with its large furred ruff, appears to be based on his Furai Model kit design from Flame Toys.
- Incidentally, Lio Convoy's reorganization of the Cybertron and Destron factions (so named in Japanese) into one unified "Maximal" faction is similar to the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic continuity, wherein "Cybertron" was a (failed) attempt to integrate the Maximals and Predacons into one united front, with the "Destrons" as a reactionary rebellion.
- It's not immediately obvious, but it's possible to tell from the particular panels and hinges being drawn that Delta Magnus is not based on his existing Masterpiece toy, but is rather a hypothetical redeco of the Studio Series Ultra Magnus toy. It's possible this new form could be intended to imply that the mantle of Delta Magnus has passed on to a new bot by the future era of this story.
- The red virtual redecos of Power of the Primes Beachcomber that make up the Primal Vanguard grunts are based on Powerdrive, partner to the original Delta Magnus and later bearer of the title himself.
- The name "Prime Council" (プライム評議会) may be a counterpoint to the "Convoy Council" (コンボイ評議会) from the Beast Wars Neo manga, set in a different continuity.
- Only 7 of 13 Primes showing up in this story might be a reference to the Seven Primes in the live-action film Revenge of the Fallen.
- The Stunticons and Nemesis are all drawn based on their Legacy toys; notably, they appeared together in those designs in the aforementioned Velocitron Speedia 500 comic which End of G1 Universe looks set to revisit.
- Two moons appear orbiting Cybertron. Given the destruction of Moonbase One and Moonbase Two in The Transformers: The Movie, might these be Moonbase 3 and Moon Base Four, which were pioneered by other continuities?
- The Quantum Gate is based on the Quantum Dial accessory included with Canon/Transformers Refraktor R5.
- Megatronus's containment device for the "Allspark" wad-of-sparks afterlife of Beast Wars continuity as introduced in the Beast Machines cartoon is a subtle repurposing of an accessory representing the contemporary "AllSpark" life-giving macguffin of live-action film fame included with the Canon/Transformers Nemesis Prime R5 figure.
Other notes
- The title of this chapter obviously ties in with the Transformers: Age of the Primes toyline, with the incarnations of the Thirteen featured in the story being based on their concurrent figures in the line.
