Mission Statement

StudyFinds sets out to find new research that speaks to mass audiences — without all the scientific jargon. The stories we publish are digestible, summarized versions of research that are intended to inform the reader as well as stir civil, educated debate.

See why NewsGuard awarded StudyFinds a perfect 100 rating following a review of our site and policies in 2022. Similarly, Media Bias / Fact Check has rated StudyFinds as one of the “Least Biased” online news sites with High level of factual reporting.

We do not agree nor disagree with any of the studies we post, rather, we encourage our readers to civilly debate the veracity of the findings themselves.

Editorial and Content Integrity

All studies and surveys published on StudyFinds are vetted by our editors prior to publication. We are always seeking to show transparency of a study, revealing who funded or is behind each article, and including links back to the source and corresponding journal article, if possible. Any research that has been retracted we will retract from our site with a correction. You can find the important “fine print” details of a study in the “Paper Summary” or “Paper Notes” section found at the end of each article. (Note: Many reports written prior to this feature being added have not been updated with Paper Notes yet.)

Each day, we seek out recently conducted research released by universities, peer-reviewed journals, marketing firms and other established companies, with sources vetted by our experienced editorial team.

Our “Best Of The Best” reviews, launched in 2022, were created to help our readers find highly recommended products, services, media, and consumer advice in one space. These reviews were a product of Editor-in-Chief Steve Fink’s own shopping behavior, in which he’ll read review after review when searching for a specific item until he comes upon a product that is highly rated by numerous top reviewers. Considering himself the average consumer, Steve believed this type of research could be equally helpful to others. It would also allow other consumers to leave behind feedback that might also help others’ make better decisions.

And that’s our hope here on StudyFinds: to provide credible, high-quality reports and reviews that can help our readers make better everyday decisions in their lives. The more you know, the better.

Accuracy and Corrections

Our articles are based on original source materials such as published research papers. We are committed to accuracy with current and reputable primary references including peer-reviewed journals and academic institutions. If any content is found to be inaccurate or erroneous, we will always issue corrections. If you have published research and you would like to see your study featured here, please contact us with details by emailing editor (at) studyfinds (dot) org.

Verified and Fact-Checked Designations

In 2024, we added a feature to mark posts as “Verified,” indicating they were reviewed and vetted by a human member of the StudyFinds editorial team.

A report marked “Fact-Checked” indicates that we were provided the source paper and/or supplementary materials the authors used in their research, and have checked that our report aligns with the actual research paper. This is an important feature that, unfortunately, many major news outlets do not follow when reporting on scientific research.

Note: Many posts published prior to these features being added to the site have not been updated with these designations. They will be updated as these posts are reviewed in the future.

Community Feedback and Engagement

Editor’s Note: StudyFinds.org is not affiliated with nor supports any of the studies we post on this site. Our goal is to provide readers with easy-to-understand reports and leave it to our readers to debate and explain their positions on these findings. There is no agenda here other than to find new data that will elicit a healthy dose of conversation for topics that speak to large segments of the population.

We strongly encourage our readers to leave their opinions about the studies in the corresponding “Comments” section of each article. Creating a civil conversation among people with differing beliefs or experiences relevant to each study is always welcome here and appreciated.

All comments are subject to moderation. Comments left on posts that are hateful, threatening, vulgar or violent in nature will not be approved. Disrespectful and uncivil conversation is not welcome on StudyFinds. While we ask readers to point out flaws or disagree with a study’s findings, it must be done so in a constructive and respectful manner.

We’d love to hear from you if you have questions, comments, suggestions, and concerns. Write us by emailing editor (at) studyfinds (dot) org. Please be respectful: inappropriate or uncivil messages will be ignored.
