Nute Gunray and Rune Haako communicating with Padmé Amidala via a circular viewscreen
A viewscreen, also known as a holoscreen,[1] display screen,[2] or vidscreen,[3] was a device for displaying images or information for the view of an audience.[1] The main component of a viewscreen was the alloy transparisteel, which was made of the mineral lommite.[4]
The Trade Federation used rippling circular viewscreens aboard its Lucrehulk-class battleships.[5] Darth Vader Force choked Admiral Kendal Ozzel at a great distance while seeing him through a viewscreen.[6] Pentagonal viewscreens were common in the Galactic Empire, as exemplified by those aboard the first[7] and second Death Star,[8] aboard the the Super Star Destroyer Executor,[6] and in the shield generator bunker on Endor.[8]
