Tava Ren was a Force-sensitive human female^[1] who led the Knights of Ren while Kylo Ren served as the Supreme Leader of the First Order.^[2]

Biography[]

Sometime between 28 ABY and 34 ABY,^[3] Tava Ren worked as an enforcer for the gang leader Bedat, occasionally performing assassinations for him. Having previously studied the dark side of the Force, Ren recognized the Knights of Ren after they were employed by Bedat.^[1]

Tava Ren first appeared in the eighth issue of the 2025 comic series series Star Wars: Legacy of Vader. The comic was written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Stefano Raffaele, and published by Marvel Comics^[2] on September 3, 2025.^[5] She was first introduced during the "Lucasfilm Publishing: Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away…." panel^[6] on April 18^[7] during Celebration Japan 2025, where concept art of her created by Raffaele was shown. The art was mistakenly introduced as concepted by Luke Ross, another illustrator on the series.^[6]

After the panel, Soule expressed his hope that fans would like the character.^[4] Ahead of the issue's release, Mark Paniccia shared a scene from Legacy of Vader 8 that teased Ren.^[8]
