Plot summary[]
After a tutorial, where the Spectres investigate a mine, they form a secret hideout known as Haven. From there they launch a series of mission to disrupt Imperial forces and rescue Lothal citizens.
Continuity[]
Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions reuses footage from the Star Wars Rebels series, including Agent Alexsandr Kallus contacting the Grand Inquisitor about the existence of Jedi Kanan Jarrus. As established by Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion[5] and the reference book Star Wars: Timelines,[6] Kallus contacts the Inquisitor in the aftermath of the mission to free Wookiee prisoners.[5] Recon Missions, however, erroneously uses this footage as if it occurs during the establishment of the Haven.
The game claims that Ezra Bridger is fourteen years old during its events,[7] which would place its events in 5 BBY.[8] However, with its subsequent updates, Bridger was given his lightsaber,[7] which was built in 4 BBY.[3] By the game's end, Ahsoka Tano also appears,[7] thereby placing the game, by its end, to be after the Star Wars Rebels Season One finale "Fire Across the Galaxy" and in a period before Star Wars Rebels: The Siege of Lothal.[3] According to The Siege of Lothal, the Spectres rebel cell spent a period of time away from the planet Lothal. This period is suggested to have been ongoing since the events of "Fire Across the Galaxy."[9] As the events of Recon Missions occur after "Fire Across the Galaxy" but happen on Lothal, however, there must have been a period between "Fire Across the Galaxy" and the start of that gap mentioned in The Siege of Lothal. As for the game's timeline, it, therefore, occurs between the construction of Bridger's lightsaber and The Siege of Lothal, thereby firmly placing it in 4 BBY despite the mention of Bridger's age.

- ↑ 3.0 3.1 3.2 Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions features Ezra Bridger's lightsaber, which was constructed during "Path of the Jedi," which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas places in 4 BBY. By its end, the game also allows the Spectres to interact with Ahsoka Tano, whom they only meet face-to-face in the Star Wars Rebels Season One finale "Fire Across the Galaxy," which also occurs in 4 BBY according to Galactic Atlas. There is a gap before the Spectres return to Lothal in Star Wars Rebels: The Siege of Lothal, itself set in 4 BBY according to Galactic Atlas and after "Fire Across the Galaxy," so the events on Lothal seen in the game must end at some point between the Spectres meeting Tano and before their gap established in The Siege of Lothal. Therefore, Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions must occur in 4 BBY.
