Plot summary[]

The perils of K43[]

On the volcanic planet of K43, Darth Vader and his Imperials demand that C-3PO act as an interpreter for them with the rock people. The droid, using a hidden comm, tries to discreetly warn Chewbacca of Vader's presence. Vader, observing the rock creatures, expresses his belief that they, like droids, are free of emotion and fear. Meanwhile, as Chewbacca works to deactivate the detonators, he's discovered by stormtroopers. He quickly defeats the patrol, prompting Vader to order his troops to surround, but not kill, the Wookiee.

A shifting moral compass[]

On Sergia, Luke and Warba Calip race away from the Imperial Garrison in a stolen speeder, with Luke celebrating their successful robbery. He's ready to use their stolen credits to buy the information they need, but Warba suggests they split the money and live a life of luxury. As they enter a town, they see stormtroopers interrogating civilians. The Imperials cause some damage before leaving, but not before warning the locals they're being watched. A dejected Warba tells Luke she grew up on Jedha and witnessed both miracles and suffering when the Empire plundered the planet's crystals. She says the Force is capable of both good and evil and, with this, she runs away with Luke's lightsaber,

A new plan on Lanz Carpo[]

On Lanz Carpo, Leia and Dar Champion finalize their new plan. Dar explains that Leia's original plan would have led to the city's destruction and points to a massive airborne structure that serves as Boss Carpo's military fortress and surveillance outpost. He reveals that it is filled with the very criminals he has been trying to imprison. While Leia and Dar upload fake messages into the system, Han Solo is violently apprehended by Carpo guards, who inform him that Boss Carpo wants to talk to him.
