- "…the next arc begins in issue #50. Issue #50 is going to be this very, very big story that my entire run centers around. "Mutiny at Mon Cala" is the lead-in to something kind of cataclysmic and huge in scale."

Plot summary[]
On the Mako-Ta rebel base, Mon Mothma and Leia reflect on the Rebellion's success in freeing the Mon Calamari. Leia excuses herself to check on Queen Trios, who seems to be enjoying her time but confesses she is a pampered monarch with no personal skills.
Meanwhile, on the Ring of Kafrene, Han Solo and Chewbacca wrap up a negotiation with help from C-3PO acting as a translator. After leaving, they realize they are being chased by bounty hunters, but Han and Chewbacca lose them by hiding behind an entrance point.
Luke arrives at the Mako-Ta base for the celebration. The rebel fleet is celebrating Leia's efforts by putting on a spectacle that includes Luke piloting his X-Wing. General Jan Dodonna tells Luke that the Rebellion's fleet must be used strategically, as they cannot win a war of attrition. During her speech, Mon Mothma calls the rebel fleet a "hidden blade" that will be deployed where it's needed most.
The ships try to leave but their engines fail. Leia realizes Queen Trios left during the speech and grows suspicious. Suddenly, several Star Destroyers arrive from hyperspace.Darth Vader orders his boarding parties to wait, explaining that he wants to give the rebels time to feel fear before the attack. The rebels realize their comms, artillery batteries, engines, and hangar bay doors are all disabled. Aboard Vader's Star Destroyer, Queen Trios drinks wine while watching, but in a moment of shame, she throws the drink away. Vader senses the rebels' dramatic change in hope and believes he can now end the Rebellion.
Continuity[]
The issue places the Ring of Kafrene in the Outer Rim Territories, whereas Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide places it in the Expansion Region. However, the trade paperback places the Ring of Kafrene in the Expansion Region.
