Plot summary[]
On board the stolen Star Destroyer, the crew is in a dire situation. Leia Organa receives an update from Han Solo: the hyperdrive is still down, the backup reactor is at risk of overloading, and the engines and shields are failing. The ion cannons have also gone offline, with a maintenance crew missing from their posts. Over the comms, Luke Skywalker and Sana Starros, who are investigating, discuss their slim chances. Starros, in particular, has a bad feeling, noting that someone knows they are there and doesn't care.
Despite Han's pleas to stop for repairs, Leia insists they are too close to their objective. She believes that their greatest weapon is surprise, and their forty-million-ton ship is all the cannon they need. Unbeknownst to them, R2-D2 has found an anomaly in the ship's systems. Outside the vessel, the bodies of dead rebels float ominously in space.
Suddenly, an explosion on the bridge sends Leia flying. Stormtroopers led by someone named Misty and a group in the engine room, including Trooper Zuke, open fire, revealing they've infiltrated the ship. Luke confronts a stormtrooper with a green lightsaber who claims they have fought before, and Chewbacca appears to take on Trooper Zuke. Luke recognizes the trooper as the gamemaster from Grakkus's arena, but the trooper corrects him, identifying himself as Sergeant Kreel of Scar Squadron. The troopers reveal that the Star Destroyer, the Harbinger, is on a collision course with other Star Destroyers.
As the Harbinger crashes into the Imperial ships, a large force of TIE Fighters arrives, including the ship of Darth Vader himself, who joins the battle.
