Squids were able to spit out clouds of ink as a defensive measure.[2] Types of squids included star squids,[3] Utapaun flying squids,[4] and scum-squids.[5]

The Trident-class assault ship was shaped like a squid,[6] and the bongo submarine used by the Gungans of Naboo resembled an exotic Nabooan squid or similar creature of the deep.[7] Although they were humanoid, the Quarren of Mon Cala had squid-like traits, and were sometimes rudely called "Squid-Heads."[2]
