"Shu-Torun Lives" is a canon comic story created by Kieron Gillen. It was published in Star Wars (2015) 50.

Opening crawl[]

SHU-TORUN LIVES 
The dreaded Death Star superweapon is
no more, destroyed by Luke Skywalker
and the heroic Rebel Alliance.

The evil Galactic Empire's most feared
enforcer, Darth Vader, is charged with
rooting out the Rebels and restoring
order to the galaxy.

But with every victory against Vader and
the Imperials, the more dangerous the
Rebels become....

Plot summary[]

On Mustafar, 'Darth Vader meets with Admiral Ozzel and General Veers. Ozzel reports that the destruction of the Death Star has galvanized the Rebellion, and their attempts to secure resources for Imperial projects are being slowed. He asks Vader for guidance on how to destroy the rebels. Veers interjects, and Vader says Veers makes a good point, before outlining his plan.

Meanwhile, on Shu-Torun, Queen Trios meets with Vader. He informs her that he wants her specialists to mine the ruins of Jedha. He also tells her she must supply information to the Rebels to gain their trust. Seeing the fragment of destroyed Alderaan that he gave her, Vader reminds Trios that if she resists, the same fate will befall her home. When one of her guards threatens Vader, Trios kills him and orders her remaining guards to stand down, confirming to Vader that everyone is expendable. Vader then kills all the remaining guards.
