The saddle[4] was a natural valley at the top of the steps on the Temple Island on the planet Ahch-To.[1] Porgs, a species of bird, could be found on the saddle.[2] It was once a place of meditation for the ancient Jedi.[3]
In 34 ABY, Rey arrived on the planet and climbed the steps, finding the Jedi Master Luke Skywalker on the saddle, looking out over the cliff.[1]
