- "The creation of more warriors will not end this war. The financial cost alone will bankrupt and cripple the Republic. By adding more clones to the conflict we are only escalating destruction, not winning the war. Which is why we must vote for this resolution. To promote more diplomacy, and bring an end to this killing and hatred."
 - ―Senator Padmé Amidala

During the Clone Wars, a bill that would reduce military spending was proposed by a group of senators, spearheaded by Senators Onaconda Farr and Padmé Amidala.[1]
Amid the ongoing debate regarding the bill, Senator Farr was killed after being poisoned by his aide, Lolo Purs. The bill was ultimately defeated.[1]
