A red dwarf was the most common type of main-sequence star. With a lifespan of over 100 trillion years, red dwarves accounted for over 70% of all stars in the galaxy, but due to emitting very little light and heat only around 100 of them supported the creation of life in their star system.[1]
Examples of red dwarves included the star of the Pressylla system,[3] the star of the Tertiary Usaita system[2] and Barab.[1]
