"That fruit will be wonderful when it flowers."
Pili Walde, to Cal Kestis[2]

Palm fruit shell, also known more simply as palm fruit, was a fruit that hailed from an unidentified planet.[2] The fruit was edible by members of the human species and could be found on[1] the Inner Rim[3] planet[4] Chaaktil[1] and the Outer Rim planet Koboh, where seeds could be found in Alderaanian Blue, Dathomirian Red, Felucian Yellow, and Nabooan Green.[2]

In 9 BBY,[5] human Jedi Knight Cal Kestis retrieved various palm fruit seeds on Koboh and planted them in the garden atop the Pyloon's Saloon cantina in the Rambler's Reach Outpost.[2]

Resistance spy Vi Moradi ate and enjoyed palm fruit while living on her homeworld Chaaktil. The fruit was one of the details that Moradi mentioned while describing her homeworld to Salju, the Batuuan owner of a filling station[1] on the Outer Rim[6] planet Batuu[1] in 34 ABY.[7]

In that same year,[8] green Palmfruit Yogurt was served as part of the breakfast buffet in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room on board the MPO-1400 Purgill-class star cruiser Halcyon.[9] The yogurts were also included in the cruiser's to-go breakfast boxes, which were available to guests at the Sublight Lounge.[10]

Behind the scenes[]

Palm fruit was first mentioned in Delilah S. Dawson's 2019 novel Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire.[1] The fruit then first appeared as an ingredient in the Palmfruit Yogurt, which is a dish available at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel in Walt Disney World Resort, Florida,[9] which opened to the public on March 1, 2022.[11] The out-of-universe recipe for the yogurt uses acai fruit.[9]
