The Oevvaor jet catamaran, also referred to as the Wookiee catamaran or the Oevvaor cataraman, was a well-known Wookiee vehicle manufactured by Appazanna Engineering Works. They were named after the oevvaor, a sea creature native to Kashyyyk. During the Battle of Kashyyyk, the catamarans were used to assist the Republic in defending Kachirho.^[6]

The Catamaran was a slim, twin-hulled craft that skidded over Kashyyyk's many oceans and seas. Using repulsorlift arrays, they could ascend to altitudes of up to 1000 meters. Engines very similar to those of podracers propelled them to speeds of up to 370 kilometers per hour. Most of the chassis was made up of wroshyr wood.^[9]

History and use[]

The Wookiee aircraft was named after the Oevvaor, a predatory marine reptile native to Kashyyyk and known for its speed and territorial ferocity. The prow was made to resemble the ax-like horn of a male Oevvaor.^[4] They proved to be invaluable vehicles during their service to the Wookiees, who used them to fly above the Wroshyr trees and sail the water bodies of the Wawaatt Archipelago.^[7]

Oevvaor Catamarans were normally used as fishing vessels or sports craft. However, whenever the Wookiee homeworld was threatened, hundreds of these vessels were conscripted and given makeshift weaponry. The most famous use of these ships was at the Battle of Kashyyyk, where their maneuverability and speed was vital in small arms attacks through Separatist lines.^[4] Through their service in the Battle of Kashyyyk, the catamarans again proved their usefulness, with^[7] Jedi General^[10] Quinlan Vos even working aboard one at some point during the campaign. When the Galactic Empire began the occupation of Kashyyyk, the Kashyyyk resistance deployed catamarans.^[7]
