Located in the Therezar system, Nightside was a large ice mining station operated by Zargo Anaximander during the New Republic Era.
Characteristics[]
Nightside was positioned in geostationary orbit within the rings of Therezar, intersecting the rings.[1]
The station's main body was composed of two identical cubes, connected by a large skeletal structure where the captured material from the rings was mined and reduced into its base elements. A spider's web of cables connected the central structure to its surrounding substations, with cable cars running between them all.[1]
The station operated as its own city-state, and contained a large city-like complex within it that contained housing, shops, and restaurants for its workers.[1]
History[]
In 21 ABY,[5] the station was attacked in a raid by the Droid Crush Pirates of Bestoon, seeking to capture the rogue Strand-Cast Dathan and his family at the command of Ochi of Bestoon. However the droids largely ignored Ochi's directive and prioritized raiding the station instead. But all of the Droid Crush was defeated and destroyed by Zargo Anaximander's security droids he had stationed throughout the station.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Nightside appeared in the 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith by Adam Christopher.[1]

This assumes that the name "Shaltin Tunnels," as used in Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 21 Guide to the Galaxy: Visiting Felucia, applies to the canon hyperspace route depicted on the map that matches the depiction of the Star Wars Legends route with the same name in The Essential Atlas per
Jason Fry (@jasoncfry.bsky.social.) on Bluesky (post on January 3, 2025): "They are indeed the same. Same galaxy, same map. In the rare event something needs to be changed, it will be discussed. (In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
