- "The only thing more powerful than knowledge is a loaded rocket launcher."
- ―Hondo Ohnaka's mother, as quoted by her son
Missile launchers, also known as rocket launchers or warhead launchers, were a class of weapon which launched explosive projectiles. Launchers ranged in size and function, from small weapons usable by a single individual[3] to larger launchers which were built into starships such as the Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry,[4] or ground vehicles like the All Terrain Missile Platform.[5] They saw use during the Clone Wars[3] and the subsequent Galactic Civil War.[5]
During the Galactic Civil War, technicians with the Alliance to Restore the Republic began manufacturing launchers that were quicker to reload. These launchers were often stolen by pirates and installed on their ships in order to boost their firepower.[1] In 3 ABY,[6] merchants affiliated with the Miyuki Trade League sold these improved launchers for 2250 credits.[1]
In 3 ABY,[6] the scoundrel Kay Vess purchased these improved launchers for use on the Trailblazer, her EML-850 light freighter.[1]
