Malevolence attack pattern

Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

The Confederacy of Independent Systems developed^[3] a deadly two-step attack pattern during the Clone Wars, extensively employed by their Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence. It was initiated when the Malevolence fired its superheavy ion cannons, disabling a targeted starship's power systems that left them defenseless to the warship's secondary turbolaser batteries.^[2] In 22 BBY,^[1] the Separatist dreadnought used the attack pattern against multiple Galactic Republic fleets, silently destroying them to prevent detection until the Battle of Abregado when Jedi General Plo Koon survived the onslaught.^[3] The tactic was used once more at a battle at the Kaliida Nebula, but had ultimately failed after a Republic starfighter squadron crippled the warship by bombing its ion cannon with proton torpedoes, forcing its retreat^[4] and eventual destruction.^[5]
