- Wilhuff Tarkin is erroneously described as the "governor of the Imperial Outland Regions" when in canon he was actually the governor of Eriadu and previously served in the Outland Regions Security Force, a paramilitary force that sought to protect Eriadu and the Greater Seswenna sector, during the Republic Era. The books seems to reference information from Star Wars Legends, in which the Outland Regions were established as an area of the galaxy and Tarkin, as the overseer of Oversector Outer, was informally viewed as the governor of this region, rather than just Eriadu, the latter of which is the case in the current canon.
- Mon Mothma is described as "Supreme Commander" of the Rebel Alliance, one of several alternative titles used in Legends in place of the much more common Chief of State.
- The book refers to the Imperial soldiers from Star Wars: The Old Republic and related media as "ancient Sith soldiers," associating them with the Sith troopers of the Sith Eternal for the first time. It says that "according to legend," the ancient Sith soldiers protected the Sith Empire many years before the creation of the First Order.
