As former Jedi Master Keeve Trennis embarked on her journey to assume the role of Speaker of the Beacon, with Master Sskeer—her old mentor—serving as the Order's official liaison, Sskeer's gentle teasing drew a heartful laugh from her, and she playfully shot back, "Oh, shut the kriff up, dad."[4]
When Beck Ollet described a referee as being "crooked as a kriffing Hutt," he was ordered off the grav-ball field with the threat of suspension otherwise.[1]
While Boba Fett was retrieving a bounty on an Imperial facility on the astronomical object Sterna IV, the unfortunate human, caught up in blaster bolts as Fett dragged him along, called Fett "kriffin' crazy."[21]
As she made her getaway from a casino on Chandrakant, Doctor Aphra exclaimed "kriff!" when she had no choice but to leap through a closed window, shattering the pane.[22]
Behind the scenes[]
The term "kriffing" first appeared in the Legends novel Vision of the Future, written by Timothy Zahn.[23] Fellow Star Wars author Abel G. Peña believes that Zahn created the word by reversing the "f" and the "k" from the term "fricking," which is a mincing of "fuck."[24]
