Gangan Comics

Gangan Comics is a Japanese manga imprint owned by the Square Enix Holdings corporation. They publish various manga based on Star Wars in their Monthly Big Gangan magazine.

Publication history[]

Square Enix began publishing manga under the Gangan imprint in 1991 with the Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine. Targeted towards a young male demographic, the magazine went on to serialize some of the most famous and well-known manga, such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, and the adaptation of A Certain Magical Index.

In May of 2022 it was announced over Twitter that Square Enix would publish manga adaptations of both Star Wars: Visions and Star Wars: The Mandalorian in their Monthly Big Gangan magazine, which began publication in 2010 and is targeted towards an adult male demographic. The series would begin serialization in Monthly Big Gangan Vol. 6 on May 25, 2022.[1]
