- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The Deliberator was an Imperial-class Star Destroyer used by the Imperial Navy. The Star Destroyer contained databanks, which included a file titled "Pyke Syndicate" from the "Kessel" section of the Imperial Archives. This file detailed the Galactic Empire's deal with the criminal Pyke Syndicate, whereby the Empire excavated the addictive substance spice from the mines on[1] the planet[2] Kessel before the Pykes sold the drug on the black market. The file also noted that although the Empire received a substantial share of the profits, it ultimately assumed full control of the spice output.[1]
In 6 ABY, the Deliberator was present near the Kessel system, and the "Pyke Syndicate" file was partially recovered from the vessel's databanks.[1] In 35 ABY,[3] the historian Beaumont Kin used the file as a source in[1] his[2] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, noting the file's recovery from the Deliberator.[1]
Behind the scenes[]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
