Chita first appeared in "The Smuggler," a non-canon short film directed by Masahiko Otsuka that will be released as part of the third volume of the Star Wars: Visions series. The animated short, produced by Studio Trigger, released on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. The character was first introduced at the Star Wars: Visions panel at Celebration Japan on April 19, 2025.[3] She is voiced by Ami Maeshima in the original Japanese version and by Emma Myers in the English dub.[1]
