"Welcome, Hunters Fans, to the inaugural edition of Arena News! Here we bring you highlights and happenings of the Arena - from the inside!"
―Arena News[3]

The Arena News was a media coverage that published various news, interviews, and events of the Grand Arena.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Arena News is an in-universe news coverage being hosted on the Star Wars: Hunters official website.[1] It was first mentioned in an update blogpost on March 28, 2024.[4] Arena News later posted their first article on April 16, 2024.[3]

Two articles, "Opportunity Nox" and "Survival At All Costs" were later posted to the Star Wars: Hunters website, with the incorrect dates listed.[5][6] One Arena News article, "Star Wars: Hunters - Important Message," is not an in-universe page[7] and is instead a repost of the Star Wars: Hunters article "Sunset on Vespaara."[8]

Several articles are tied to in-game Clash events, however alternate versions were written for the other potential winner. These alternate versions were not accessible in-game.[9][10][11][12][13][14]

Contradictions[]

Both Star Wars: Hunters[15] and Arena News articles referred to Tal as the newest Hunter when Rieve was already an established Hunter;[16] however, the canon tie-in novel Hunters: Battle for the Arena revealed that Aran Tal was an established Hunter by the time Rieve joined the Hunters of the Outer Rim roster.[17] As the tie-in novel provided a better cohesive in-universe narrative, this article assumes it to be the correct version of events.

In Hunters: Battle for the Arena, it was established that Frontline was already in operation as Rieve—a new Hunter at the time—was shown battling in the battlefield.[17] However, an Arena News article titled "A New Battlefield" stated that Hoth Frontline was still in the process of being built.[18] As the novel provides a more cohesive in-universe narrative, this article assumes Hunters: Battle for the Arena to be the correct version of events.
