"To give an example, on Coruscant, Pollux Hax—one of Palpatine's most ideological and nefarious officials—was very open in explaining the benefits of 'segregated areas of the cities' where non-humans were pushed together ostensibly to allow them to live their lives according to shared customs, but in practice to forcibly separate them from humans."
―The information cited to An Imperial Guide to Coruscant by Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1]

An Imperial Guide to Coruscant was a travel guide to the planet Coruscant during the Imperial Era authored by Pollux Hax, an official of the Galactic Empire. In it, he explained the supposed benefits of areas of the city on Coruscant where non-humans were forced to live together separate from humans, claiming that it was so that they could live according to their shared customs. This information from the guide was cited by historian Beaumont Kin in[1] his[2] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire in 35 ABY.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

An Imperial Guide to Coruscant was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Pollux Hax was created as the in-universe author for the Coruscant section of the 1995 reference book The Illustrated Star Wars Universe, which was written by Kevin J. Anderson.[3]
