Per organization policies, I can't develop Excel add-ins. I can use Office Scripts, but there are no event handlers for Excel objects via this API. Is there any use and/or is it even possible to create custom events in Office Scripts for Excel? Even if eventhandlers can't be added to built-in Excel objects?

  • Why am I able to get intellisense on non-excel api objects which show addeventlistener? Like "Performance"? Those won't work in this context? Commented Mar 11 at 16:51

    Unfortunately, Office Scripts doesn't currently support events. This is something we're considering for the future, though I don't have a timeline to share at the moment. If there are specific events or use cases you have in mind, it'd be great to learn more and I'll see if I can suggest workarounds. Commented Mar 25 at 22:27
