No. We're simply explaining that an 11.26.01 image is just an older image with apt-get dist-upgrade applied. If you update your packages via discover, you'll get the same result as with a newer image. This is not standard system behavior. I saw a case years ago where the username contained special characters, causing problems for the user, which was resolved by reinstalling with a normal username. If this isn't the case, I recommend downloading and installing the latest version of the system, as your installation may be corrupted.
