As a city located on the banks of the Danube—the second largest river in Europe—Vukovar has naturally become the central venue for the celebration of International Danube Day. This event has evolved and expanded year after year, featuring a wide range of activities, from the fish paprikaš cooking competition, exhibitions, presentations of life and traditions along the Danube, fishing competitions, to boat and barge rides. It has become an extremely popular occasion for both local residents and visitors.
We invite you to join us and participate in the fish paprikaš cooking competition, which will be held as part of Dunav Fest Vukovar on June 29th, 2024 (Saturday), along the Danube promenade beneath Eltz Castle.

16:30 – Competitor registration and application check
18:00 – Start of fish stew cooking
20:00 – End of cooking and sample submission
21:00 – Winner announcement and award ceremony
