The RICC directive is to
- Organise the operational relations between the SIOS activity programme and the partner facilities.
The RICC work programme for 2025
- Provide ongoing support to optimisation projects.
- Contribute to the Access Call and provide ongoing support to successful applicants.
- Update the SIOS e-learning platform for fieldwork in Svalbard.
- Enhance the Observation Facility Catalogue - by updating all data but also sharing data between platforms.
- Work towards reducing the environmental footprint of science conducted in Svalbard by following up on the safety standards and organising a workshop on the topic Environmental Footprint and Sustainability in 2025.
- Contribute to organising webinar(s) on topics of interest to the SIOS consortium.
- Initiate the SIOS Terrestrial Infrastructure Network.

Key achievements in 2024
- Contributed to the optimisation call and provided support to ongoing projects.
- Supported 8 access projects to completion.
- Contributed to the feasibility assessment of applications to the 2024 access call.
- Unified rifle training across SIOS member institutions and began the work on unifying polar bear safety training via a workshop in autumn 2024.
- Updated the e-learning platform for fieldwork in Svalbard.
- Integrated the functionality to display data from the Greenland Integrated Observing System's web portal 'Isaaffik' in the Observation Facility Catalogue.
