Two days. 500 volunteers. One resilient community.
Our Partners in Progress and Recovery
Foothill Catalog Foundation
San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity has partnered with The Foothill Catalog Foundation to offer thoughtfully designed, pre-approved home plans for wildfire survivors. Each design includes 3 beds, 2 baths, and reflects the architectural character of the foothill region—balancing efficiency, beauty, and the power of choice for families ready to rebuild.
Artwork by Eric Junker
Altadena-based artist Eric Junker designed the Walls of Hope event imagery. His artwork features a phoenix for rebirth, California poppies for resilience, hammers for strength, and the message Altadena Strong—symbols that now live on in every volunteer t-shirt from the event.
Altadena Builds Back Foundation
SGV Habitat was honored to receive the first grant from the newly established Altadena Builds Back Foundation. This $4.55 million award will help fund the rebuilding of 22 homes for underinsured families impacted by the Eaton Fire in West Altadena.
Lunch Provided by World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen generously provided hot meals for volunteers, staff, and crews during Walls of Hope. Known for serving communities in crisis worldwide, WCK brought comfort and nourishment to those helping rebuild Altadena—one plate at a time.
Henry’s Bake Sale
Six-year-old Henry raised $352 through a bake sale to support Altadena’s recovery. During the event, he presented his donation—alongside artwork of rainbows and turtles symbolizing hope—to SGV Habitat’s CEO, inspiring everyone with his compassion and creativity.
Habitat CEOs & EDs
Leaders from 19 Habitat affiliates across the country visited Walls of Hope following the HFH 2025 Executive Summit. They rolled up their sleeves to build, connected with local homeowners, and saw firsthand the impact of community-led recovery in Altadena.

“I’m honored to be able to be a part of this,” said Dorian Harewood as he came out to swing a hammer alongside other volunteers. “My daughters home was burnt down in Altadena during the fire and my son’s mother-in-law lost her home as well. Whatever we can do we’ve been trying to do. What you guys (SGV Habitat) are doing is unbelievable. This is what’s necessary. People came together and are coming together through your organization and others to get everyone back on their feet. You guys are a Blessing, everyone has been a blessing.”
The momentum from Walls of Hope is only growing. As we continue laying the foundation—both literally and figuratively—for families in Altadena, we invite you to be part of what comes next. Every nail driven, every dollar donated, and every volunteer hour brings us closer to restoring not just homes, but lives. Your support can turn recovery into renewal. Join us in the work ahead.
