Let's Socialize!

There is still so much time for sweetness.

Time for long walks that accidentally become longer ones. For favorite toys worn soft around the edges. For sunlight disappearing across the living room floor while a dog sleeps through the last warm patch. Time to go somewhere you’ve never been, come home tired, and wake up tomorrow ready to do it again.

Max is a seven-year-old Australian Shepherd who seems to know there is still an awful lot of life waiting for him. So many paths yet to stroll, so many toys yet to chase, so many belly rubs yet to be had. There are car windows that haven’t been rolled down for him, new places waiting to be sniffed from top to bottom, and quiet evenings that could use a dog curled up nearby. Max is active, affectionate, and wonderfully ready to find the person who will be there for all of it.

None of us gets to keep an afternoon forever. But we can fill it while it is here. We can walk a little farther. Stay outside a little longer. Throw the toy one more time. We can find someone worth sharing the years with and, for as long as we’re lucky enough to have them, stay young together.

Max is available for adoption at our Santa Maria Campus. We are open for adoptions from 12 to 4:30 PM every day except Wednesdays.

Being named Munchie as a Labrador is honestly a lot of pressure.

People immediately assume you’ll be interested in snacks. They’ll expect you to stare at sandwiches with Oscar-worthy intensity, appear in the kitchen the instant a cheese wrapper makes the slightest sound, and treat every rustling grocery bag like the opening bell at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Munchie would like the record to show that these assumptions are… not entirely without merit.

Fortunately, she’s about much more than snacks. This sweet three-year-old Labrador Retriever at our Santa Barbara Campus may take a minute to warm up to someone new, but once she does, she’s exactly what you’d hope for in a Lab: friendly, playful, social, and happiest when she’s part of the action. She’s done well with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, and would much rather spend the day making memories than sitting on the sidelines.

If your life has been missing a loyal adventure buddy with a heart of gold and the uncanny ability to hear a treat bag being opened from what seems like another county, Munchie is ready to prove that the only thing bigger than a Labrador’s appetite is a Labrador’s capacity for love.

We are open for adoptions from 12 to 4:30 PM every day except Wednesdays.
