Let your curiosity guide you

Date:

This “hybrid hotel and experience network” invites guests to start a story with their stay at CURIOCITY Africa, and let their own curiosity set the direction. CURIOCITY Africa just makes sure you don’t miss what’s worth finding.

The brand is built for travellers who don’t want to just pass through. It’s is for people who want to plug into the real energy of a city, connect with its people, and leave with stories they couldn’t have picked up anywhere else.

CURIOCITY Africa calls itself a “hybrid hotel and experience network”, which means that you get a design-led base in Africa’s most exciting cities and a team that knows how to turn your curiosity into an immersive itinerary.

CURIOCITY Green Point sits in the heart of Cape Town’s urban buzz, with modernist architecture, a pool and outdoor lounge, and a café-restaurant that draws in both travellers and locals. The design is sharp and functional — a mix of deluxe private suites, family apartments, and shared suites that offer flexibility without compromising on style.

CURIOCITY Kloof Street in the Gardens neighbourhood brings a more creative edge. Think panoramic Table Mountain views, open social spaces, communal braais, and interiors that merge Cape Town’s street culture with clean, contemporary finishes. The location puts you steps away from artisan coffee spots, independent stores, and some of the city’s best restaurants.

“I stayed at both the Green Point and Kloof Street locations of CURIOCITY and was welcomed with the warmest hospitality, it felt like being greeted by old friends. The spaces are clean, modern, and peaceful, with plenty of activities and prime locations that make it easy to explore Cape Town on foot,” said Ricky Gonzales from Hawaii.

CURIOCITY’s curated experiences include

● Cape Winelands Journeys: Private day trips to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with tastings at award-winning estates and time to explore historic towns.

● Black Route Walking Tour: A guided exploration of Cape Town’s inner city through the lens of Black people’s history and resilience.

● Inner City Immersions: Local-led tours that uncover street art, culture, and hidden food gems.

● Cape Peninsula Adventures: Scenic drives to Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, and Boulders Beach, with local-led insight along the way.

● Urban Exploration: Cycling tours through Johannesburg’s historic districts or Cape Town’s townships, guided by people who live and breathe these communities.

● Wildlife Safaris: Half-day or overnight trips to reserves where you can see elephants, lions, and rhinos up close, guided by conservation-focused rangers.

● Cultural Connects: Food tours, music nights, gallery visits, and pop-up events that give you a direct link to the local creative scene.

Recently, a French traveller got immersed in the flow. “Such a great tour! The guide knew the neighbourhood inside out and shared its history in a way that was engaging and easy to understand, even for non-native English speakers. I learned so much, visited the Mandela House, and enjoyed a great local lunch. I’m so grateful for the experience,” said Manon Chevalier.

CURIOCITY blends flexibility and insider access, so you choose how much or how little you want planned, but you always have a local crew ready to point you toward what’s worth your time, from underground jazz gigs to the best spot for sunset drinks.

Connection

Says Bheki Dube, Founder of CURIOCITY Africa: “The hybrid model was created to offer spaces where different kinds of travellers can stay, meet and learn from each other. We’re here to connect people with the South Africa we experience every day; real, raw and ready to be explored, and to help them connect more deeply with our cities.”

It’s as much about who you meet as where you go. Communal spaces are designed to bring people together — fellow travellers, locals, and the individuals leading the experiences. Connections happen naturally, and they’re often the start of the best nights out or the most unexpected detours.

The brand is expanding its reach across the continent, but the core stays the same: design-led spaces, a community of curious travellers, and direct access to the best of each city.

“The best trips happen when you leave space for the unexpected. That’s what CURIOCITY does, it gives you the framework and the freedom,” concludes Tshepo Mokone, CURIOCITY Africa’s Chief Experiences Leader in Joburg.
