Installing plugin file

1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/avir-social-auto-poster-ultimate directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
3. Go to Settings > AVIR Social Auto Poster Ultimate to configure your Facebook and Instagram credentials.
4. Set your preferred posting options in the plugin settings.
5. Start sharing your content to social media!

Facebook API Setup Guide (2025 Edition)

Note: Facebook regularly updates their interface. While we strive to keep these instructions current, the exact locations of settings may change. The core concepts and required credentials remain the same.

To use this plugin, you’ll need to set up a Facebook Business account and create API credentials. Follow these steps to get your Business ID, Page ID, and System User Token.

Step 1: Create a Facebook Business Account

1. Go to Facebook Business Suite or search for «Facebook Business Suite» in your browser
2. If you don’t have a Business account, you’ll be prompted to create one
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Business account
4. Make sure your Facebook Page is added to your Business account

Step 2: Find Your Business ID

1. In your Business Suite, look for «Business Settings» or «Business Information»
2. Your Business ID is typically displayed in the business details section
3. It’s a numeric ID (e.g., 1234567890123456)
4. Copy this ID and paste it in the «Business ID» field in the plugin settings

Tip: If you can’t find your Business ID, try looking in the URL when you’re in Business Settings. It often appears as «business_id=1234567890123456» or similar.

Step 3: Find Your Page ID

1. In Business Settings, navigate to the Pages section
2. Select your Facebook Page from the list
3. Your Page ID should be visible in the page details
4. Copy this ID and paste it in the «Page ID» field in the plugin settings

Alternative method: Visit your Facebook Page and look at the URL. Your Page ID is often visible in the URL or in the «About» section of your page.

Step 4: Create a System User

1. In Business Settings, look for «Users» or «System Users» section
2. Create a new System User (look for «Add» or «Create» button)
3. Give it a name (e.g., «WordPress Auto Poster») and select appropriate access level
4. Complete the user creation process

Step 5: Assign Assets and Permissions to System User

1. After creating the System User, you’ll need to assign assets (your Facebook Page)
2. Look for options to add or assign assets to the System User
3. Select your Facebook Page
4. Assign the following critical permissions:
   • pages_read_engagement — To read page content
   • pages_manage_posts — To create posts
   • business_management — For business account access
   • pages_manage_metadata — For managing page content
   • instagram_basic — For basic Instagram access (if using Instagram)
   • instagram_content_publish — For posting to Instagram (if using Instagram)
5. Save your changes

Important: Facebook may rename these permissions or add new required ones. If you encounter permission errors, check the error message for specific permission names.

Step 6: Generate System User Token

1. In the System Users section, find your newly created user
2. Look for an option to generate or create a token
3. Select your Facebook Page when prompted
4. Ensure all the required permissions are selected (see list in Step 5)
5. Set the token to never expire if possible (recommended)
6. Generate the token
7. Copy the generated System User Token and paste it in the «System User Token» field in the plugin settings

Critical: This token will only be shown once. Make sure to copy it before closing the window. If you lose it, you’ll need to generate a new one.

Step 7: Test Your Connection

1. After entering all three credentials, click «Save Settings»
2. Then click the «Test API Connection» button to verify your credentials are working
3. If successful, you’ll see your Facebook Page information and permissions
4. If you encounter an error, check the error message for specific issues

Instagram Setup (Optional)

1. To enable Instagram posting, your Instagram account must be:

   • A Business or Creator account (not a personal account)
   • Connected to your Facebook Page

2. To convert to a Business account:

   • Open Instagram app
   • Go to your profile
   • Access the settings menu
   • Look for «Account» or «Account Type»
   • Switch to a Professional account (Business)

3. To connect Instagram to your Facebook Page:

   • In your Instagram professional account settings
   • Look for Facebook or Page connection options
   • Follow the prompts to connect to your Facebook Page

4. Once connected, enable Instagram posting in the plugin settings

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

• Invalid token error: Your System User Token may have expired or doesn’t have the required permissions. Generate a new token with all necessary permissions.
• No page access error: Make sure your System User has been assigned to your Facebook Page with the correct permissions.
• No Instagram Business Account error: Ensure your Instagram account is a Business account and properly connected to your Facebook Page.
• API version error: Facebook regularly updates their API. This plugin is designed to work with the latest version, but if you see API version errors, check for plugin updates.
• Permission denied error: Facebook may have added new required permissions. Check the error message for specific permission names and add them to your System User.
