Trash Will NOT Be Collected on the Following 2026 Holidays:
- New Year’s Day — Jan 1
- Martin Luther King Day — Jan 19
- Lincoln’s Birthday — Feb 12
- President’s Day — Feb 16
- United Farmworkers Day (Observed) — Mar 30
- Memorial Day — May 25
- Juneteenth — Jun 19
- Independence Day — Jul 4
- Labor Day — Sep 7
- Columbus Day — Oct 12
- Veteran’s Day — Nov 11
- Thanksgiving Day — Nov 26
- Christmas Day — Dec 25
City Pick-Up
Holidays occurring on a scheduled service day will result in a one-day delay, except Wednesday holidays.
If the holiday falls on a Saturday, there will be NO DELAY.
Athens Pick-Up
Holidays occurring Monday–Friday will result in a one-day delay for each day following the holiday.
If the holiday falls on a Saturday, there will be NO DELAY.
Christmas Tree Recycling
Christmas trees will be collected with regular trash pick-up from Jan 5, 2026 through Jan 24, 2026. Please follow these guidelines:
- Remove stand, ornaments, and decorations
- Cut tree into 4-foot lengths and place in or next to the green container
- Flocked trees should be placed in or next to the brown container (4-foot lengths)
- Container lids must fully close to receive service
Bulky Trash & Yard Waste Disposal
On the 3rd Saturday of every month, City of Riverside residents may show their utility bill and dispose of bulky items and yard waste for FREE at:
